About 「Not A Second Bedroom」



Story
NAB was born from the recognition of a common struggle among female entrepreneurs: the confinement and limitations of working from home. Despite their creativity and drive, many women find themselves stuck in their bedrooms, unable to access the resources and support they need to grow their businesses. Our team of service designers from the Royal College of Art set out to change this by creating spaces where women can connect, collaborate, and thrive.

We convert underutilized bank branches and certify non-traditional coworking spaces, such as hotel lobbies, cafes, and bookstores, into NAB work cafes. These spaces offer a unique blend of practical business support and well-being services, tailored specifically for female entrepreneurs.

Meet the Team




Hi there!
We are a dedicated team of service designers from the Royal College of Art, united by our mission to empower female entrepreneurs and transform their work environments. Our interdisciplinary backgrounds in service design, interaction design, product design, and interior design enable us to tackle challenges from multiple angles and create holistic solutions.

With extensive experience working with various startups, we have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by female entrepreneurs. This insight drives our commitment to designing practical, caring services that help women transition from home-based studios to dynamic, supportive workspaces.

Through our project, Not-A-Second-Bedroom (NAB), we aim to convert underutilized bank branches and certify non-traditional coworking spaces like hotel lobbies, cafes, and bookstores into vibrant work cafes. Our goal is to provide female entrepreneurs with the resources, support, and community they need to thrive.
